Dan Stolpe's approach to the book, A Canticle to
the Waterbirds by William Everson, is a strong classical presentation of
shorebirds as seen in the prints below of Black Necked Silts and Avocets
basking along the waters edge. Two panels show a nesting scene of
Egrets and Bitterns with a strong parallel slash of outstretched wing
and the elongated beak of the Bittern in profile. Below is a Tern
hovering against a dramatic wood grain sky.
